I meet men on a constant basis, not too much. Getting a second date is never hard, but they never seem interested in a relationship!
Is there a clue as far as how many days to wait before making the first initial call? There is usually the lack of intimacy and closeness that a relationship brings.
There isn't really a rule of thumb about calling guys but unless you can avoid it you should call a guy within the week that you got handed his phone number, if he didn't call you
If it is longer than seven days then he might think that you are not interested in him. Being genuinely interested shows him that you are a discreet woman who will not cause him any problems.
Ideally when you get his number you should call him within 1 or 2 days. It all really depends on an attraction there was between the both of you and how much that your really like him.
Ask yourself what transpired in your conversations with the man that you have called previously. However if it was just a casual chat and you did not offer somewhere for you both to meet then it is not likely that he will call you back.
Bottom line: Men are still expected to do the majority of the chasing after women so in this regards the next time that you call a guy that you are interested in, specify a date and place for you both to hang out.
If he says yes then that's good but if he says that she is busy then offers an alternative date. If he still does not want to meet you then it is probably likely that he is not interested and you can just move on.
